Exchange Email & Calendar

Due to the recent migration to Google email and calendar, the following FAQ may no longer be applicable.  Please contact the IT Help Desk if you have any questions.

All SSU students and employees are automatically provisioned an SSU Exchange email account. The instructions below are for adding your SSU Exchange account to your email client. To ensure full functionality and compatibility with Exchange, it is recommended you use Outlook 2010 and newer for your email client. Please also make sure to regularly update your Outlook client in order to mitigate potential operational problems.

How To Set Up Your Exchange Email Account

IT supports the following ways in which to connect to your SSU email:

Webmail/Outlook Web App (OWA)

Accessing OWA doesn’t require any setup. You can access your email on most devices with a web browser and an internet connection. To use OWA, login to Online Services and click the Email & Calendar button.

Email Clients for Desktops and Laptops

Email Applications on Smartphones and Tablets

Other Email Client Settings

Use these settings for other email clients:

  • Type: IMAP
  • Username: Your Seawolf ID (ex: smithj)
  • Password: Your Seawolf password
  • Incoming Server:
    • SSL/TLS Port 993
  • Outgoing Server:
    • SSL/TLS Port 587

Other Device Settings for Email

If your device is not listed above, try to use the following e-mail settings:

  • Username: Your Seawolf ID (ex: smithj)
  • Password: Your Seawolf password
  • Account Type: Exchange/Corporate
  • Domain: SOLAR
  • Server:
  • Port: 445
  • Security Type: SSL/TLS
